The Texas State Comptroller’s office released sales tax revenue information and allocations for the month of February 2010 for cities across the state. These sales tax numbers reflect taxes collected in December 2009 and some 4th quarter collections.
The sales tax revenue being paid to all Brown County cities in the month of February is down across the board. Bangs, Blanket, Brownwood, and Early all saw a drop off as compared to the February 2009 numbers.
Brownwood’s numbers improved somewhat from January numbers however only dropping about 5%. Early’s numbers worsened from last month, but the totals for January and February are virtually unchanged as compared to the same time period as last year.
