Funeral services for Ruth Cole Greer will be Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Southside Church Brownwood, Texas with Bill Slaymaker and Allen Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery Santa Anna, Texas. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
Ruth was born Ovilla Ruth Cole on March 2, 1930 to James Edgar and Lillie Wallace Cole in Coleman County, Texas. She passed from this life into the arms of her savior on March 4, 2013, surrounded by her family. She attended Santa Anna Schools and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1947.
Ruth worked for Weatherby Motor Company in Brownwood for many years and made friends who appreciated her sweet smile and kind spirit.
Ruth was a Christian woman who loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church. She loved her family and enjoyed family get-togethers where she could be with her grandchildren. Ruth loved to travel, one of her best memories was getting to travel the Blue Ridge Parkway and traveling to Washington, DC with her family.
Ruth is survived by her children Donna Casey Miller, Nita Greer Diehl, Debbie Greer Wilson, and Rickie Greer, daughter-in-law Terrilyn Casey Taylor. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shane Miller and wife Ruthie, Leah Miller Fuller and husband Paul, Stephen Miller and wife Tasha, Shannon Miller Lee and husband Brian, Kevin Wilson, Amber Wilson, Kayla Casey, Richard Diehl, Tana Diehl, Eric Diehl, Jessica Diehl Hughey, and Bobby Diehl. Her great-granchildren; Jacob Miller, Lauren, Abigail and Sophie Fuller, Lilly, Hannah, and Emma Lee, Joshua Wilson, Ruthanne, Robert, Shane, and Rachel Miller, and Raegan Casey.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents James Edgar and Lillie Cole, her son Harold Casey, son-in-law Robert Diehl, great-grandson Lucas Casey and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
