Ruby Mae Collier, age 76, of Brownwood went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2012, at the Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2013, at Greenleaf Cemetery in Brownwood under the Direction of Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue in Brownwood.
Ruby was born on January 21, 1936, in Bangs, Texas, to Charlie and Ida Singletary Townsend and lived her entire life in Brown County. She married Kenneth Collier on July 6, 1957, in Brownwood, and she worked 10 years at ARA Food Service in Brownwood. Ruby was a member of Faith Baptist Church and TOPS Club #729 in Brownwood.
Ruby is survived her daughters, Lyndia Collier of Brownwood and Jo Ellen Collier of Brownwood; brothers, Tommy Townsend and wife Elva of Lubbock, Texas, and Kenneth Edwards of Lockey, Texas; sister-in-law, Lela Mae Smith of Brownwood, and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Collier; parents, Charlie and Ida Townsend; brothers, Howard Townsend, Heavy Townsend and Brooks Townsend, and her sister Bonnie Edwards.
