Ronnie Wayne Merrifield, age 77, passed away April 14th at his home in Lake Brownwood, Texas surrounded by family and loved ones.  He was born in Ballinger, Texas on April 2nd, 1941 to parents O.I. and Francis (McKay) Merrifield.

Ronnie was a businessman, an antique collector, gun and coin collector. He was a builder by trade in recent years, even though he told everyone he was an unemployed carpenter.  He enjoyed fishing and loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ronnie Merrifield II, a brother Odie Merrifield, brother-in-law, Charles (Gene) Wade and a nephew Shaw Brewer.

Ronnie is survived by wife, Evelyn Merrifield of the Home, a daughter Tracey Merrifield of  Onolaska, Texas, step daughter Cindy Crawford and husband Robert of Lake Brownwood, step son, Kurt Culverhouse and wife Sharon of Laguona Vista, Texas, sister Linda Karen Brewer and husband David of Eastland, sisters-in-law Kay Merrifield of Dallas, Musette Snap and husband Ben of Early; Leona Baldwin of Brownwood, brother-in-law Tommie Gordon of Midland and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the class of 59 of Big Lake, Texas where Ronnie grew up.  They were friends of a lifetime and he kept in contact with most of them.

Graveside services for Ronnie Wayne Merrifield, age 77, of Lake Brownwood, Texas will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Rocky Creek Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
