Ronald A. Campbell of Humble, Texas, formerly of Brownwood, Texas, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 17, 1951, in Brownwood, Texas, to John A. and Virginia F. Campbell. He attended school in Abilene and Brownwood and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1969. In 1974 he graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a major in business. His last post was 478th Civil Affairs Battalion in Perrine, Fla., before retiring with the rank of Major, after 28 years of service in the Army National Reserve. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Campbell and his brother, Richard Campbell.
He is survived by his son, Stuart Campbell of Austin and a daughter, Chelsea Krysko and husband Steven and their sons, Cohen and Cooper of Arlington; his father, John Campbell of Brownwood.
He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Larremore and husband Freddie of Brownwood, and Barbara Jernigan and husband Gaylon of Mullin; and his brother, George Campbell and wife Kim of Blanket.
Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in the Zephyr Cemetery. Heartland Funeral Home of Early is on charge of arrangements.
