Volunteer firefighters from the Lake Brownwood, Brownwood’s Rescue 1, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Early Police Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident about three miles north of Brownwood on FM 2125 near Lake Brownwood Tuesday night after 7pm. According to law enforcement officials on scene, it appeared that a 24-year-old female driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off of the road, causing the vehicle to flip.
The driver was reported to be injured and initially a landing zone was being set up to air lift her to the hospital; however it was later decided to transport her by Guardian EMS instead to the hospital. Officers report the female was conscious but her condition was not released at the time of the accident.
As one volunteer fireman responded to this wreck, he found himself in an emergency of his own as his GMC pickup suddenly caught fire on the way to the wreck. The entire cab of the vehicle burned; however the driver was able to escape without injury.
