Funeral Services Roger “Tex” Stevens, age 69, of Early, Texas will be held 2 PM Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Heartland Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie White officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 – 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. He went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2012 in Brownwood, Texas
Roger “Tex” Stevens was born September 13th, 1943 in Brownwood, Texas to Albert and Eunice Rudloff Stevens.
Tex attended school in Early, Texas and graduated in 1963. He met and married Carolyn Sue Moore in Houston, Texas in 1967. He severed in the Vietnam War as a US Marine.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Sue Stevens; his son Roger “Kevin” Stevens who was his best friend and wife Christina of Tiki Island, Texas; his daughter Kelly JoAnne Holt who loved him dearly and husband Stephen of League City, Texas. His is also survived by four grandchildren Stephen Chase Holt, Savannah Kelly Holt, Kristoffer Hunter “SharkBoy” Stevens and Hanna Elizabeth Stevens.He is also survived by his two sisters. Carla Sue Barfknecht and husband Tony of Eden, Texas. Betty Lou Delman and husband Don of Midlothian, Texas. Also loving mother Eunice Rudloff Stevens of Cross Plains, Texas. He was preceded in death by Albert Franklin Stevens his ever loving father.
He will be missed greatly by his extended family, especially the Moore family and a host of many wonderful friends.
