15-year-old Sydney Roberts, who will be a freshman at Brownwood High School this fall, won the West Texas Junior Champions Tour season ending 2-day championship event in the Girls 15 – 18 division in San Angelo on August 3rd.
Roberts won the event with a 79 – 74 – 153. The WTJCT Championship event was held at the San Angelo Country Club on August 2-3.
Roberts finished her first round (79) with a 2 shot lead, then distanced herself further from the field in the second round (74), outpacing the 2nd place golfer by 7 strokes. Roberts qualified for 1 of 15 spots in this Championship tournament by earning points throughout the summer season at various tournaments across west Texas on the WTJCT where she placed either 2nd or 3rd in every event entered.
