The Lady Lions golf team played in the Burnet Junior Golf Association Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s round was played at Delaware Springs in Burnet.
The day started with a delay due to rain which made the course very wet, especially the bunkers which remained in play.
Sydney Roberts (Brownwood) and Morgan Rogers (Lampasas) battled it out most of the day. After the first round, Sydney was leading with a 75, Morgan shot 77.
The second round was played at The Legends in Kingsland. They teed off with 46 degree temperatures and a north wind. This course had a lot of hazards which cost almost everyone more strokes. The day ended with Sydney winning the tournament shooting 75-81=156, Morgan Rogers (Lampasas) 77-82=159, Lauren Beckwith (Burnet) 83-89=172.
