Thursday was a great day of training for the Brownwood High School golf teams as freshman Sydney Roberts made a hole in one. According to Coach Laura Martin, Roberts made a 121 yard par 3 with a seven iron on the number four hole at Brownwood Country Club.
It was something to remember according to Martin.
“Macie and I were watching and the guys were about to tee off on number five,” said Martin. “She hit a great shot into the slope on the green and it rolled into the hole. It was awesome.”
Martin stated that she was thrilled that the team was there to see the hole in one.
“It was great that there were so many of us there to see it go in. Most of the kids had never seen a hole in one,” explained Martin.
Present to witness the shot were Coach Martin, Macie Maxfield, Sierra Yancy (who was playing with Sydney), Jessica Barrera (also playing with Sydney), Brady Hall, Brett Sawyer, Payton Lee and William Rice.
