Robert Lee Williams Jr. passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Church of the Living God located at 1800 Good Shephard Dr. Brownwood with Pastor Marcus Wasson Officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 pm at the Brownwood Funeral Home, 2512 Belle Plain.
Robert Lee Willimas Jr., also known as “Bishop”, was born in Monroe, Louisiana to parents Robert Lee Williams Sr. and Mary Lee Buckner-Williams. Robert received his primary education from Monroe Public Schools. Soon after high school Robert joined the United States Army and served Honorably for 4 years, before continuing his service in the Army National Guard. Robert moved to Brownwood, TX in the early 70’s. After relocating to Brownwood he was employed by the City of Brownwood at the Brownwood Coliseum. Mr. Williams then worked at Superior Cable for 32 years as a machinist before retiring in 2012.
Robert was an Evangelist and loved to spread the love of Jesus. Brother Robert Williams served as the Assistant Pastor at Milton Ave. Baptist Church for 25 years. After his service at Milton Ave. Baptist Church he then was an Elder at the Church of the Living God since 2015 until his passing. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and he loved watching Westerns and old Army movies. Brother Williams loved his Sweets, he loved Gardening but most importantly he loved the Lord.
Robert was preceded in death by parents, Robert Lee Sr. and Mary Lee Williams, sister Frances Morgan, and Twin Brother Alex Lee Williams.
Left to Cherish his memories are his wife of 48 years Brenda Williams of Brownwood, daughter, Linda Williams of Brownwood, Sons; Anthony Williams of Brownwood, and Michael Williams of Austin, TX. Grandchildren: Jalon Newbill of Desoto, TX, Jasmine Williams of Brownwood, TX sisters; Johnnie Lee Birdon (Jimmie) of Monroe LA, Betty Jo Pruitt Harris and husband of Mississippi, brother, Pastor Otis Brown of Shreveport Louisiana and a host of extended family and many friends.
