Funeral Services for Robert Meador, age 76, of Arp, Texas, formerly of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 19, 2011 at Windham Cemetery in Brown County. interment to follow under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Meador passed away Sunday January 16, 2011.
Robert was born July 3, 1934 in Holder, Texas to William J. Meador and Lois (Tabor) Meador. He married Hope Joyner on July 26, 1954 in Portsmouth, Virginia and spent most of his life serving in the United States Navy as a sailor. After retiring he enjoyed being a ham radio operator, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Hope Meador of Arp, Texas; children, Lisa Faye Welch, Charles Livingston Meador, Jerry Don Meador, Annabelle Marie Meador, Eddy Thomas Meador, Roberta Kay Bott, Lonnie Gene Meador; 16 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three brothers, Jerry Jewel Meador, Donald Jay Meador, and Johnny Ray Meador.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Joseph Meador.
