Graveside services with military honors for Robert Carlton, 79, of Brownwood, will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 7, at Greenleaf Cemetery with Bishop Michael Fuqua officiating.  Interment will follow under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home.

Robert Ellison Carlton was born on May 30, 1934, in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Henry E. Carlton and Stella Mildred Baker Carlton.  He served his country in the United States Army and in 1962, he married Annora Reed.  He had worked as a truck driver and later in life, had loved to build toy trucks.  Mr. Carlton had lived in Brownwood for most of his life and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Annora Carlton of Brownwood and his children, Robert L. Carlton, Anita Kay Ferrer and Jesse Carlton, all of Brownwood.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Stella Carlton and one sister, Kathy Alden.
