Robert Clinton Cross, better known as “Bob” or “Paw-Paw” to many, 80, of Brownwood, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his home, surrounded by family.

He was born on March 22, 1937 to Milton and Lois Cross in Brownwood, Texas and then moved to Early as a young boy.

Bob was the youngest of three children. His sisters, Frankie and Mary Anne knew him best as “Bobby”.  He attended Early Schools and was raised in the Early First Baptist Church.

Bob joined the US Army as an adult and retired after 23 years of service.

He found the love of his life in Sada and they were happily married for 50 years. As a military family, they lived in many places, from El Paso, Texas to Europe, but Early has always been his home.

Bob is well known in the community as a former Maintenance Director of Early ISD, retiring in 1999.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sada; His children, Jim and Norma Johnson of Killen, Alabama; Beverly Johnson of Saginaw, Texas; Linda Selnekovic of Early, Texas; Bob and Carrie Cross of Kason, Minnesota; grandchildren, Amber and Alex Kight of Kingsland, Texas; Katrina and Stephen Fenzi of Fort Collins, Colorado; Anne Johnson of San Antonio, Texas; Faryl and Justin Teague of Weatherford, Texas; Brittany Cross, Alyssa Cross and Leah Cross all of Kason, Minnesota; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Frankie and (Travis) Fenton of Early, Texas and Mary Anne Young of Waco, Texas; Beloved Neighbors Mary Sullivan and Sarah Marr; Numerous Nieces and Nephews and the love of his life (besides Sada) Ginger Belle, his teacup poodle.

Bob is preceded in death by his Parents, Milton and Lois Cross; Son, Rick Johnson; Grandson, Bryant Johnson.

A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Early First Baptist Church, 103 Garmon Drive, Early Texas.
