CityofBrownwoodlogo_smallThe City of Brownwood announced that Prater Construction will begin construction on Calvert Road from Horseshoe Trail to Milam Drive as early as next week.

Road construction will take several months but should be complete by August. Weather is usually the determining factor on construction similar to this project.  City officials ask citizens to take alternate routes when construction starts to help protect their vehicles and the lives of the workers on the projects. There will be large equipment and many workers on foot in the work zone.

This project will resurface parts of the existing roadway, and create a new and more traffic-friendly intersection with Milam Drive.  As part of the project, a portion of the walking trail will be added with a curb to protect pedestrians. The trail will be 8 feet wide and will be added to the west side of the road to connect with existing sections that are already complete.
