Memorial services for Ricky Wayne Smith, 56, of Cross Plains will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 21, at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains, with Ronnie White officiating. Lunch for family and friends will be held prior to the services at the church. He was cremated under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains.
He went to be with the Lord Monday, December 16, 2013.
He was born June 7, 1957, in Corpus Cristi, to Ileen and Carl Smith. He was a Baptist. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life. He enjoyed playing his guitar.
Survivors include his mother, Ileen Smith of Cross Plains; children, Ricky Lee Smith and wife Stacey of Anna, Texas, and Holly Smith of Cross Plains and formerly of Brownwood; two grandchildren, Chase and Arista Smith of Anna, Texas; brother, Rodney Smith and wife Rose of Abilene; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Smith; wife, Susie Smith; and two infant brothers, Reggie and Randy Smith.
