Graveside Services for Ricky Medar, age 54, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery in Grosvenor with Jackie Barnett officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Mr. Medar passed away Monday October 19, 2009 in Brownwood. Family has requested that everyone meet at Abundant Life Church at 12:45 p.m. to go in procession to the graveside. There will also be a meal held at the church after services for family and friends.
Ricky was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 20, 1955 to Sam and Alice (Haskins) Medar. He was a truck driver and a member of the Abundant Life Church in Brownwood. He married Davetta Conover on October 7, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Ricky is survived by his wife Davetta Medar of Brownwood; two sons, Sam Medar and wife Bioletta, and Shaun Medar both of Phoenix, Ar; an aunt, Fernie Haskins of Phoenix, Ar.; two brother in laws, Larry Stanbaugh and Mark Conover; two sister in laws, Linda Stanbaugh and Julia Conover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Medar.
