Graveside services for Richard Leon “Rick” Hathcock, Sr., age 61, of Brownwood will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Rocky Creek Cemetery with Reverend Ruben Packer officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Friday at Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Rick passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2014 in Abilene.
Rick was born on July 24, 1953 in Andrews, Texas, son of Riley Fletcher and Wanda Jean (Rentz) Hathcock. He was a lifetime resident of Brownwood. Rick was a 1971 graduate of Bangs High School. He was an Eagle Scout, and later served his country, along with two of his brothers, in the U. S. Army. Rick will always be remembered for his quick wit, easy-going manner and sense of humor.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Jonna Hathcock of Brownwood; sons, Richard L. “Ricky” Hathcock, Jr. and Jina McClain of Early and David Hathcock of Lubbock; granddaughter, Jennifer Hathcock; brothers, Riley, Mike and Gary all of Brownwood and several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece.
