Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to all, Richard Franklin Dennard, age 65, of Dallas went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Richard was born on August 7, 1948 to Edward and Dorothy (Patterson) Dennard in Kermit, Texas. He attended high school at Odessa Permian and played on the first State Championship Football Team in 1965; he graduated in 1966. After high school, he attended and played football at Baylor University on a football scholarship. Richard was the former owner of Dennard Chemical and Supply in Duncanville, Texas. As well, he was a member of Ebby Halliday Real Estate Team. Richard was extremely proud to be an organ and tissue donor; even after death he could still help others.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Dennard of Dallas; sons, Dustin Dennard and wife Stephanie of Austin, Brandon Dennard and wife Stacie of Mt. Pleasant, and Kyle Miller of Garland; three grandsons; mother, Dorothy Dennard of Goldthwaite; and sister, Patricia West and husband Terry of Midland.
Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Dennard; father, Ed Dennard; and brother, Michael Dennard.Visitation for the family will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery in Goldthwaite, Texas with Bro. Butch Foster officiating. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Dallas in Dallas, Texas.
