The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting event on April 27th for their newest member, Heart of Texas Crime Stoppers.
Heart of Texas Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization governed by an elected board of directors and by a law enforcement coordinator working with the local law enforcement community. The purpose of Heart of Texas Crime Stoppers, Inc. is to reward members of the local area for confidential information regarding unsolved crimes in Brown, Coleman and Mills County, Texas. Crime Stoppers, Inc. receives funding for these rewards through donations from the community and probation fees through various agencies. Rewards are determined by established guidelines.
Those with information that may help solve a Felony or a Class A Misdemeanor crime can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) and leave an anonymous tip for a reward up to $1000 if it leads to an arrest. Tips can also be left online at heartoftexascrimestoppers.org.
Heart of Texas Crime Stoppers is the local title sponsor for this year’s National Night Out event which will take place on Tuesday, October 4th, 2011.
