Rhonda Karen Johnston Emison was born on February 5, 1954. The Angels came and brought her wings on January 9, 2010, and she flew away to her eternal rest.
She is survived by her husband Ross Emison; daughter Angie and Frank Henderson and grandchildren

She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie Johnston and wife Nona; nephews Keith Johnston and wife Amy, Jason Johnston and wife Brandy, all of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Eric Johnston and wife Kim, of Spokane Washington. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends from just about everywhere.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elvin and Louise Johnston, formerly of Carlsbad New Mexico, and mother in law Reva Emison, who was her close friend and mentor.
Rhonda was a very gracious and giving person, beautiful inside and out, she always looked for good in everyone that she met, and touched the lives of those around her. She was especially proud of her Cherokee heritage.
Those of us that had the pleasure to know her have realized that not only have we been touched by an Angel but have now lost our best friend as well.Rhonda’s life was cut short by a rare form of breast cancer, and she very bravely fought her illness without complaint till the end. At her request, her remains have been cremated, and no services have been planned. Rhonda wished to be remembered as she was before she became ill.
The family will host relatives and friends on an informal basis over the next few days, and we will mourn our loss, and celebrate her life privately .
The family appreciates all the support, love, and prayers from everyone, and the folks from Heartland Funeral Home for helping us through this difficult time.
