Funeral Servics for Rex Lewis, age 73, of Rising Star, Texas will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2018at the Heartland Funeral Home with Terry Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 7:00 pm Sunday at the Funeral Home. Rex passed away Thursday in the Rising StarNursing Center.
Jimmy Rex Lewis was born on March 10, 1945 in Gorman, Texas to James Calvin and Myrna Rae Maynard Lewis. In August 1981 he married Juanita Joy Price,in Deleon. Rex worked as a Millright for many years and one of his greatest loves was for the outdoors and hunting. He was a member of a Elks Hunters Organization from 1964 until 2012. Rex had been a resident of the Rising star area for the past 33 years and will greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Juanita Lewis of Rising Star; sons Jimmy Lewis Jr. and wife Terri of fort worth; Brian Helmuth of Abilene, Rodney Helmuth and wife Amy Joe of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Johnny Earl Lewis and wife Debbie of Stephenville, Wes Lewis of Duncanville, Texas; daughter Debbie Harris of Grand prairie; twenty grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents. James and Myrna Lewis.
