Funeral Services for Reverend Ray Box, 89, of Early, Texas will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Heartland Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at the Bangs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday prior to the service. Mr. Box passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Hilbert Ray Box was born on January 23, 1923 in Robertson County, Texas to Hilery Rafe Box and Minnie Owens Box. He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. Ray attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Southern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and Corpus Christi College in Corpus Christi, Texas. On March 22, 1957 he was married to Inez Raye Gardner in Corpus Christi and she preceded him in death in 1995. He then married Irma Leta Tisdale Barker in Bangs, Texas on February 1, 1997 and she preceded him in death November 21, 2011. Rev. Box was in the ministry for over sixty years pastoring in Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas. He loved serving his Lord and singing.

Preceded in death by his parents, wives and a brother Earl Box.
