The first ever Rockin’ Robin Dance Contest was held today during Saturday festivities at the 9th Annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration.
This dance competition showcased many dancing styles with an array of music from country to old fashion rock & roll. There were several exhibition dances along with some audience participation which was popular with several children.
There was only two age groups that participated which had the young 5-12 age group going against the more experienced 45+ group.
The finalists were the Mexican Style dancing of the Jalisco Dance Group for the 5-12 and Chad and Kathy Anderson doing the Tango representing the 45+.
In the end, the judges had the two teams have a dance off to determine the overall winner. The Anderson’s ultimately took the win as grand champions of the event, with the Jalisco Dance Group talking 1st place in their age bracket.
