After 24 years and 6 months of service to the Brownwood Police Department, Detective Robert R. Mullins will be retiring on February 9, 2011.
Spending time with his 2-year-old grandson, riding motorcycles, and gardening and possibly traveling are some of the things Mullins is looking forward to. He stated that he and his wife will stay in Brownwood, she is in her 30th year teaching and isn’t quite ready for retirement yet. Mrs. Mullins is an Algebra teacher at Brownwood Middle School.
“I’ll step back for a month or so and then who knows what I’ll do,” stated Mullins. “I’m still finishing up some court cases, so it’s not over yet.”
To honor the years of faithful and dedicated service Detective Mullins gave to the city and people of Brownwood the Brownwood Police Department is announcing a retirement reception will be held on February 9th from 1:00-3:00pm. The reception will be held at the Law Enforcement Center at 1050 W. Commerce in Brownwood.
