KefferOfficialHeadShotEastland, TX—State Representative Jim Keffer, R-Eastland, is proud to announce his Grassroots Leadership Team and has officially filed for re-election in the Republican Primary. Over 200 elected officials, conservative leaders and community champions from each of the 8 counties within House District 60 join Representative Keffer in his bid for re-election—and the list keeps growing.

Known for his rural advocacy and tax cutting legislation, Rep. Keffer successfully defended the conservative values of the district this past legislative session.  Rep. Keffer lead efforts to pass a balanced state budget that includes over $1 billion in tax and fee relief, reform our education system, eliminate Medicaid fraud by requiring drug testing prior to receiving state benefits, and provide additional financial security for our retired teachers.

“Hood County and the rest of the district have benefited greatly from Jim Keffer’s strong conservative leadership,” Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said.  “Jim is a great friend to law enforcement, volunteer fire departments, and he’s a member of our community. I’m happy to be a leader on his grassroots team.”

In addition to his position as Chairman of the House of Energy Resource Committee, Rep. Keffer served on the House Natural Resource Committee where he played a key-role in passing historic legislation to fund the State Water Plan. Leading up to election day, Rep. Keffer toured District 60 promoting the importance of passing Proposition 6. On November 5, 2013 voters from all 8 counties overwhelmingly supported the measure to secure Texas’s water future.

“Brownwood is fortunate to have Jim Keffer as our elected representative. Jim listens to our needs, understands our values and fights hard to protect and improve our quality of life. I proudly endorse his campaign for re-election,” said Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes.
