This week was the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court Case, Engel vs. Vitale, that prohibited prayer in USA public schools. Interestingly, numerous other “50s” have evolved from that infamous court decision:
50% of USA school-age students are from broken homes
50% of USA adults have experienced some form of sexual abuse
50% of USA students are not graduating with their peers
50% of USA adults are recipients of some form of government subsidy
50% of USA registered voters profess secular social progressive politics.
Some political pundits assert that Engel vs. Vitale has no connection to the above statistics. However, history and Biblical passages cast a foreboding shadow over nations that cast God to the back room of culture. No nation has escaped the dire consequences of rejecting Biblical principles as the core of government policies. The above statistics could be coincidental. Or they could very well be the consequences of Engel vs. Vitale.
