WreathsAcross America1

Greenleaf Cemetery Association is a member of the Wreaths Across America program honoring veterans by laying wreaths during the holidays.  In 2012, approximately 400,000 wreaths were placed nationwide, by over 150,000 volunteers, in 750 participating cemeteries.

A local ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14th, at the east entrance of Greenleaf Cemetery.   This year’s ceremony will feature the Heart of Texas Honor Guard, a Marine Honor Guard and local Boy Scout troops. Ceremonial wreaths will be placed on the east gate to honor all soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who served.

Following the ceremony, family members of veterans, along with volunteers, will place wreaths on the graves of service members, whose relatives ordered wreaths.

The Greenleaf Cemetery Board along with Friends of Greenleaf volunteers are assisting with the local Wreaths Across America ceremony.
