halloween2013It’s that time of year again for kids to figure out costumes and adults to buy candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters.  Many places in the Brownwood area are hosting events celebrating fall and for Halloween.

October 31st or Halloween falls on Saturday this year and in addition to trick-or-treating, many places in the Brownwood area will be hosting special events leading up to the day.  Some local churches and non-profit organizations have festivals for people of all ages.

Milton Avenue Baptist Church Fall Festival

Friday, October 30

Milton Ave. Baptist Church will host a fall festival Friday, Oct. 30th be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 702 Milton Ave. There will be booths, games and candy.  Come and have some fun.

Cross Country Health Care – Handing out Candy
Starting at 6:00 PM
Friday, October 30th

Cross Country Health Care, located at 1514 Indian Creek in Brownwood will be handing out candy starting at 6PM.

Kenpo Karate Kid Friendly Zombie Hunt
Beginning at dark
October 30 & 31

Brownwood Kenpo Karate will host a free Kid Friendly Zombie Hunt Oct 30 & 31 starting at dark at 1607 Coggin Avenue in Brownwood.

Relay for Life Presents Hocus Pocus Movie at the Lyric Theatre
12 Noon – 10 PM
Saturday, October 31st

Relay for Life will host a Family Night at the Lyric Theatre on October 31st, as a fundraiser (No drop offs please).  There will be showings of Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” at 12PM, 2PM, 4PM, 6PM, 8PM and 10 PM.  Tickets are $5, Southside Church Trunk or Treat
Saturday, October 31st
6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Southside Church will host their annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31st.  Come in costume and enjoy lots of fun and candy.  Southside Church is located at 1219 Indian Creek in Brownwood.

Haven Of Hope Trunk or Treat
October 31st

Havin Of Hope, located at 1617 Main Blvd., will host a Trunk or Treat.  Hot dogs, drinks, live music, and candy will be offered.
