Several businesses, organizations, and churches in the Brownwood area are hosting events celebrating fall as well as Halloween. Residents of all ages, both the young and young at heart, are encouraged to attend.

8th Annual Trick-or-Treat Downtown

Monday, October 31st

5-8 p.m.

Trick-or-treaters are invited to visit several downtown businesses during the 8th Annual Trick-or-Treat Downtown event hosted by Fancy’s Day Spa and The Texas Massage Academy. Candy and other Halloween-related fun will be distributed by businesses along and near Center Avenue during the evening. Businesses currently scheduled to participate in the event include Hamilton’s, World Finance, Brownwood Fitness Center, Shearly Southern, Security Finance, Fancy’s Day Spa, and the Texas Massage Academy. “Zombie Lockdown” Museum Tour

7:30-11:55 p.m.

“Zombie Lockdown” will be presented by Alpha Psi Omega from Howard Payne University and the Brown County Museum of History. Tours of the Brown County Museum will take place every 15 minutes. Tickets are $5 per person. Ages 10 years old and up is recommended due to theatrical scares. The Brown County Museum is located at 212 N. Broadway, diagonally from the courthouse. Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Fall Festival

5:30-7:30 p.m.

Coggin Avenue Baptist Church invites the public to enjoy family fun at their annual fall festival from 5:30 – 7:30 on October 31st.  The church is located at 1815 Coggin Avenue in Brownwood. Carnival style games, bounce houses, candy and hot dogs will be available for no charge.

 

5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail

Monday, October 31st

5-7 p.m.

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce and Wendlee Broadcasting have teamed up again this year to host the 5th Annual Trick or Treat Trail. This family friendly event will be held in the Depot Plaza area on Monday, October 31st from 5-7 p.m. Area businesses and organizations will offer candy, goodies, games and other fun activities free of charge to area residents. Also included during the event will be a Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by Demand Staff. The contest will offer prizes in the categories of most creative costume, best couple costume, best family costume, best group costume, cutest baby costume and best children’s costume. Entry forms for the costume contest are available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce – 600 E. Depot Street or online at BrownwoodChamber.org. During the Trick or Treat Trail, a family-friendly movie will be shown in the Depot pavilion lawn sponsored by Affiliated Bank and Baird Brothers Express Car Wash. Brownwood Nursing & Rehab, located at 101 Miller Drive in Brownwood will host a Trunk or Treat event with carnival style games, face painting, bounce houses, and candy for trick-or-treaters.

 

Vicksburg Retirement Community – Handing out Candy

Monday, October 31st

6-8 p.m.

Vicksburg Retirement Community invites trick or treaters to visit residents at 3020 4th Street. Residents will be handing out candy beginning at 6 p.m.

 

Brown County Sheriff’s Office – Handing out Candy

Monday, October 31st

5:30-7:30 p.m.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office will be handing out candy in front of the Brown County Law Enforcement Center, located at 1050 W. Commerce in Brownwood, beginning at 5:30 p.m. until approximately  7:30 p.m.

 

Cross Country Health Care – Handing out Candy

Starting at 6 p.m.

Cross Country Health Care, located at 1514 Indian Creek in Brownwood will be handing out candy starting at 6 p.m.

Brownwood Evangelism Center Trunk-or-Treat

6-8 p.m.

 

Vehicles, decorated in a Disney movie theme, will line the parking lot at 2515 Ave D. giving out goodies to all the kids. There will also be refreshments available.
