Brownwood News – The Pecan Valley Republican Women will be hosting a Brownwood Municipal Elections Candidate Forum on Tuesday, April 17th, at 6 p.m., at the Brownwood Depot.

 

 

The forum will feature the candidates from the Mayor and City Council races. Candidates attending and participating in the forum will be Incumbent, Mayor Stephen Haynes, and Challenger, Mike Tittle. Incumbent, Councilman H.D. Jones and Challenger, Patrick McLaughlin.

The forum will be moderated by Leland Acker. Candidates for city council will go first, followed by those for mayor. Candidates will have 60 seconds to introduce themselves prior to their race’s portion of the forum. Community members will be allowed to and encouraged to submit questions for the candidates prior to the start of the forum. These will be supplemented by prepared questions which are not being released ahead of the forum. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to the questions. A thirty second rebuttal will be permitted after each question should candidates desire to address points made by their opponent. Following the questions, sixty seconds will be allotted for each candidate to make their closing remarks.

Early voting for the City of Brownwood election will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on April 23 – 27, 2018 and between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on April 30 – May 1, 2018.

Election day voting will be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on May 5, 2018.

All voting takes place at the Brown County Elections Office – 613 N. Fisk.
