Organizers are getting ready the annual Cherry Pie Auction set for Saturday, February 21st, from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Adams Street Community Center.
The auction, which began in 1977, raises money for Brownwood area youth sports, including: Teenage Baseball; Freshmen League Baseball; Girls’ Softball; Cen-Tex soccer; and Soccer For Fun. Last year, the auction raised just over $18,000 for these groups.The event, which will also be aired live on 101.3 KOXE, will feature hundreds of items ranging from food and automotive goods & services to the always popular sports memorabilia and everything in between. Among the sports items will be an autographed St. Louis Cardinal road jersey, worn during the play-offs last year by former Lion Standout, now Atlanta Brave pitcher Shelby Miller (picture); lots of Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers signed items and much more.
