The Brownwood Juneteenth Celebration will be held at the Bennie Houston Community Center and Cecil Holman Park in Brownwood on Friday and Saturday, June 20-21 with both educational and cultural activities to enjoy.
According to organizers, there will be lots of old fashioned games, a talent show, zumba, music in the park, helicopters, a motorcycle show, and an inflatable for the kids.
Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and relax, enjoying this celebration in a safe and fun family environment.
A talent show will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 20th at Cecil Holman Park and will include a variety of acts, which can consist of singing, acting, dancing, comedy, art, or magic acts. There will be cash prizes for categories of 5 and under, ages 6-10 and 11 and up.

There will be a great panel of judges, which include radio personalities, local business people, and a previous Brownwood’s Got Talent contest winner: Carl Wayne, Zack Webb, Rick Phelps, Draco Miller, Jodie Armstrong, and Daron Norwood. Kids 0-18 can sign up until 5:30 p.m. the day of the event.The Bennie Houston Community Center is located at 505 Cordell and the Cecil Holman Park is located at 1100 Hall Street in Brownwood.
