Brownwood, TX, On Friday, September 28, all of Brown County is invited to take part in the Brown County Emergency Preparedness Fair. The Fair will begin at 10:00 am and will last until 2:00 pm. It will take place in and around the American Red Cross Building.
The Brown County Emergency Preparedness Fair will feature information booths, emergency vehicle displays, and live demonstrations from local emergency response agencies. Sign up to win many great prizes worth a minimum of $10.00 and to win the grand prize, which is valued at $150.00
There will be numerous agencies represented at the Emergency Preparedness Fair, including the National Guard, Red Cross, Brownwood Amateur Radio Club, AirEvac, the Brownwood Police and Fire Departments, Brown County Emergency Management, and many others. The Brownwood Fire Department will have a live fire demonstration during the day.
There will be information booths set up inside the Red Cross building covering a wide range of preparedness topics. These include how to prepare a family emergency kit, preparing your pets for emergencies, and information about how to become a member of the Brown County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) – our county’s volunteer emergency response organization.
The Emergency Preparedness Fair is part of Brown County’s promotion of September as National Preparedness Month, an initiative sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security to encourage citizens to become better informed and prepared for emergencies.
