Brownwood Art Association is offering a free workshop, kiln-fired enameling, taught by metal smith Kate Smith of Spring, Texas on Saturday, May 19th from 9:00am-4:00pm.

This class is sponsored by the Brownwood Art Association and the Brownwood Arts Council. There is a limit of 15 places.  A $10 deposit payable upon registration will be refunded at the beginning of the class. The class will run from 9:00am-4:00pm with an hour lunch break.

Participants will paint a design using water-based enamel paints on a 1.75″x2″ copper pin base. The piece will then be kiln fired. Torch-fired enameling will also be explored. Kate (K2) has a degree in chemical engineering from Texas A & M. She has been an active stained glass artist and painter. Most recently she has been exploring fine metal-crafted jewelry, box construction and enameling. She is the sister of Kit (K1) Timmins of Brownwood.
