The West Central Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross will honor the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11 and celebrate a new location for their Brownwood office with an open house at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11th.
The Brownwood office of the Red Cross will honor heroes as they remember the losses and the way the nation was changed forever on September 11, 2001. That day, as hundreds of people were running out of the buildings, first responders were running in. The Red Cross will honor them in a ceremony to pay tribute to their sacrifices to save lives.
Immediately following the ceremony, there will be an open house with hors d’oeuvres to celebrate the new location and the many volunteers of the Red Cross who work side by side to empower each other to respond to the needs of the community. The new office is located at 901 Avenue B, inside the Family Services Center.
Red Cross volunteers help to prevent and alleviate suffering in the face of disaster by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. While families struggle to rebuild their lives after disaster, Red Cross volunteers provide compassion and care to give them hope for the challenging days ahead.
