commissionercourtarticlepicOver the weekend a recent fire burning over 300 acres at the National Guard Armory caused many to think a burn ban would be put in place this week.  However, a beautiful soaking rain hit the county and changed that thought.

Monday morning Commissioners Court met with only a few items on the agenda.  One of which was the burn ban once again.  A very brief discussion led to the decision of opting out of a burn ban for this week.

Also on the agenda:

*Nina Cox, County Auditor, addressed the court with a few budget amendments to get the county through the remainder of the year, all of which were approved.  One of the larger amendments was adding $20,000 for computer expenses.   There have been several computer issues that have caused more expenses in the form of calling out computer specialists to repair PCs.  The idea of possibly hiring an IT person should be considered to help in the future in an effort to avoid hourly billing costs and possibly save on these types of issues through a contracted service.

*Acceptance of Commissioners’ Annual Report pursuant to the Texas Transportation Code 251.005, which unanimously passed for all precincts.
