Ray Payne, age 76, of Brownwood passed away October 15, 2010 in Midland . Mr. Payne was born February 20, 1934 in Yantis , Texas to James and Mary Lou Payne. An insurance salesman for many years he traveled to many different places. Ray was a Baptist and a member of the Wednesday Men’s Breakfast group in Kingsland. One of Ray’s proudest accomplishments was that he was a 28 year recovering alcoholic and a sponsor for a number of individuals over the years.
Ray is survived by a son Gary Payne and wife Cate of Midland, 2 daughters Sharon Binyon and husband Daniel of Austin, and Pam Binyon of Midland, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Jerri Murray and husband Bill of Early, Ann Hughes of Bangs, a brother Larry Payne and wife Sonya of Tuscola; he is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents and 2 wives Shirley Payne, Jane Payne.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday October 18, 2010 in the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in the Bangs Cemetery ; the family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M Sunday afternoon at Blaylock Funeral Home.
