HudspethRay Hudspeth, age 85, of Brownwood passed away October 4, 2010. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 7, 2010 at 2:00pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Brownwood with Lynn Rice and Bill Slaymaker officiating. Interment will follow at the Clear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 6, 2010 from 6:00-8:00pm at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.

Ray was born August 30, 1925 in Melrose, New Mexico. He married Claudine “Dean” Miller in Morton, Texas on November 15, 1946. He was a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was also a maintenance supervisor for Samuels Packing Plant, Swift Co. and Superior Essex. He owned Hudspeth Repair Service. After he retired, he loved restoring antique cars.

He is survived by his sons Randy and Carol Hudspeth of Goldthwaite, Tommy and Terry Hudspeth of Eula, Rex and Jarene Hudspeth of Brownwood and Woodie and Karen Hudspeth of Brownwood, his grandsons Josh, Travis, Trent and James Hudspeth, granddaughters Teresa Limmer, Brandy LaRue, Jennifer Hudspeth, Kari Hudspeth and Leeza Hudspeth, and 9 great-grandchildren, his brother Earl and JaNiece Hudspeth of Clovis, New Mexico, his sisters-in-law Myrtie Schoolcraft of Wickett, Rosie McFarland of Hawley, and JoAnn Miller of Stamford, and brother-in-law Lynn Gray of Hawley, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dean on February 14, 1999, his parents Henry and Ivie Arnold Hudspeth, brothers Euless, Aubrey, and Woodrow Hudspeth, sisters Alice Warner, Ola Laney, and Bea Shelton, and great-grandson Rowdy Dale Hudspeth.
