Ralph “Nick” Nicholson, age 84, of Brownwood passed away from this life Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at a local nursing home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Scott officiating; private interment at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Ralph was born on April 5, 1932, in San Antonio, TX and raised by his mother Edna (Mann) Nicholson and Bill Nicholson. Ralph retired from Mobil Oil after 38 years. He was a member of First Christian Church. He loved being outdoors, boating, camping, and fishing with his family.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Kim Schuster and husband Vance of Priddy, and Holly Pledger of Priddy; 8 grandchildren, Nicole Sparks, Heather Gildenblatt, Scot Nicholson, Faith Littlejohn, Chelsey Nicholson, Chase Schuster, Tucker Pledger, and Courtney Nicholson; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Everett Nicholson and wife Elaine of Colorado; and sister, Billye Jo Mathiews and husband Bethel of Victoria, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Nicholson; son, Steven Nicholson; and a brother, Thomas Nicholson.
