The gentle rain received in Brownwood created hazardous driving throughout the day Friday keeping police, fire and EMS busy.
Brownwood emergency personnel responded to a wreck at Main and Baker around 8:30am. A passenger car and a pickup truck collided in the intersection, causing front-end damage to both vehicles pictured above. No injuries were reported.
Austin and Fisk was the site of the another accident at approximately 9:15am. An occupant of one of these vehicles was reported to have neck pain and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Just 15 minutes later, emergency responders were called to the corner of Main and Center Avenue, where a pedestrian was struck. According to police this was a very minor accident and the pedestrian was not injured.
Shortly before 11:00am, a pickup truck was travelling over the Bill Monroe Overpass on Austin Avenue when struck the side of the overpass. According to police, speed and wet roads were a cause of this accident. See photos below.
