Much needed rain was falling in Brownwood and over much of Central Texas Thursday afternoon.  A cold front arrived in Brownwood at noon Thursday and dropped temperatures from 66 to 57 degrees in the span of 25 minutes.

Forecasters expect showers and isolated thunderstorms to continue, off and on, through Thursday night.

Temperatures are forecast to be in the upper 30’s by early Friday morning but, with North wind at 20 mph, the feels like (wind chill) temperatures by early Friday morning will be in the upper 20’s.

Temperatures will struggle to reach 50 Friday as clouds remain but the rain ends.

Temperatures Friday night for area football games will be in the 40’s.

A light freeze is possible Saturday morning but weekend weather looks very nice with clear skies, highs in the upper 60’s Saturday and middle 70’s Sunday.
