Brownwood News –  The following calls for service were reported on police and sheriff’s blotters.  One call for the Sheriff’s Department shown below dealt with a positive rabies test near the community of Bangs.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

On March 11, at about 10:09 hours, Deputy Byron Langley spoke with a man by phone.  This was in regards to illegal dumping.  The man stated someone had dumped the internal organs of an animal by his mailbox located at CR 433 in Rising Star.

The Texas Department of Health Service notified the Brown County Sheriff’s Department of a positive rabies test.  A rabid skunk came in contact with two dogs on FM 586 South in Bangs.  Both dogs had a current rabies vaccination and received a booster following the encounter with the skunk.  The dogs are required to be quarantined for a period of 45 days.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at approximately 08:07 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a north Brownwood address regarding a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival an investigation and a report were completed.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at approximately 10:24 Hours, Officer Bowman was dispatched to a South Brownwood residence in the 1400 block of Coggin Avenue in reference to a Burglary of a Vehicle. Upon my arrival, I met with the complainant who advised me that an unknown person broke into her vehicle and stole her wallet. During this investigation the complainant advised that she did wish to file charges. A report was generated and completed.

On 3/11/2020 at approximately 15:00 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Indian Creek Drive for a call of Burglary. Police made a report for burglary.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at approximately 16:47 hours, Officer Risdon was dispatched to a north Brownwood business in the 500 block of West Commerce regarding a theft that had occurred. Upon arrival and investigation, a report were completed.

BWPD Officers were called to a burglary of habitation in the 1000 Block of Cordell St. It was determined that a burglary did occur. Information was gathered and an initial report was generated. The report was then forwarded to BWPD CID for further investigation.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020 at approximately 19:40 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to an accident at 1800 2nd. One of the drivers involved had warrants out of the Brownwood municipal court.  A man was arrested for his warrants and transported to the Brown County Jail. It was discovered he had marijuana in the vehicle during the time of the accident and was charged with Poss Marij <2oz.

On March 11,2020 at approximately 17:57 hours, Officers with Brownwood PD responded to a residence in the 3000 block of 1st Street in the southern district for a fraud that occurred. A report was generated in reference to this call.

On March 11th, 2020 at approximately 18:00 hours Officers with the Brownwood Police Department responded to a call of a Hit and Run in the 4200 block of Highway 377 South. A report was generated for this incident.

On 3/11/2020 at 20:00 hours, Early Officers were dispatched to the 100 Blk. of Sudderth Dr. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon further investigation, the domestic disturbance happened in the city limits of Brownwood. Brownwood Officers took a report to be passed on for further investigation.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at approximately 22:47 hours, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a south Brownwood address in the 1600 block of Stewart Street in reference to theft. A report was generated for this incident.
