The Brown County Fair Association and the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce announced this week that Putter Jarvis has been named this year’s rodeo parade grand marshal.
Jarvis has been a long-time supporter of the Brown County Fair Association and has served for many years on the board and as an officer. He was also on the steering committee that built the Earl Q. Wilson Rodeo Arena and served on the Brown County Rodeo steering committee for many years. Jarvis was recognized this year as a lifetime supporter of the Brown County Youth Fair.
Putter Jarvis has also served in many capacities in the community on boards, committees and organizations in his lifetime including two terms on the Brownwood City Council, as board member of the Brownwood Jaycees, board member of the Brownwood Rotary Club, board member and president of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, board member and president of the Brownwood Industrial Foundation, board member of the Brownwood Regional Hospital board and several others.
The 51st Annual Brown County Rodeo Parade will travel through Downtown Brownwood and feature a wide assortment of entries. The parade will start Saturday, June 14th at 10 AM.
Awards will be presented for best in-town float, best out of town float, riding club awards, best decorated vehicles, best antique vehicles, best horse drawn vehicles, and best bikes/unicycle. Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes will also select one entry for the Mayor’s Choice Award.
