Brownwood News – February is Heart Month. In conjunction with that, a program will be presented Thursday, February 27, in Brownwood, entitled “Living a Heart Healthy Life with Diabetes.”
Kelly Taylor is a Registered Nurse, Dietician and Certified Diabetes Educator for Hendrick Diabetes Center. “Diabetes and heart disease go hand in hand. 65% of people with diabetes have a risk of developing cardiovascular disease or stroke by the time they enter into their older years. We thought it would be appropriate, during heart month, to have a program talking about that and some of the ways we can reduce the risk of development of cardiac disease,” Taylor said.
The program Thursday will be start at 5:30 pm at Hendrick Medical Plaza, 2371 Crockett Drive, Suite 100. It is free to attend.
