The new period for candidates to file in this year’s Primary Election ended on Friday with several county races developing for Republicans.
Brown County Republican Chairman Brad Locker announced the list of candidates on Friday afternoon which showed races for Brown County Sheriff, County Commissioner Precinct 1 and 3, and Constable Precinct 3. The open spot for Commissioner Precinct 1 received the most interest with six candidates filing.
Locker also announced that he will be stepping down as the Republican Chairman.
The Brown County Republican Party will hold their County Convention on April 21st at 10am at the Adams Street Community Center. The Primary Election will be held on May 29th with early voting starting May 14. Runoffs, if needed, will be held on July 31.
A Republican Primary forum will be held at 6:30pm on April 24th at the Adams Street Community Center.
