The Brown County Republican Party, in collaboration with the local Pecan Valley and Brown County Republican Women Clubs, will host the 2016 Primary Candidates Forum on the evening of February 4th. The forum will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Adam Street Community Center, 511 E. Adams in Brownwood.
All area contested candidates will give a brief introduction to allow time for questions. These questions will be selected in advance, and if time allows, additional questions will be selected from those submitted in writing by the audience. Questions may be submitted via email to hefner254@yahoo.com or in writing at the forum. Questions will be screened to insure they are applicable to the issues concerning that position.
The contested positions and candidates being represented at the forum include:
County Commissioner, PCT 1: Gary Worley – Incumbent, Tommy Blevins, Robert W. “Bob Contreras, and Jimmy Trowbridge.
County Commissioner, PCT 3: Wayne Shaw – Incumbent, Pat McLaughlin, and Jessica Acker.
State Representative, District 60: Mike Lang and Kevin Downing.
State Senator, District 24: Susan King, Jon Cobb, Ryan Downton, Dawn Buckingham, Reed Williams and Brent Mayes.
Brown County Sheriff: Billy Bloom, Vance Hill, and Dr. Paul Lilly.
District Attorney, 35th Judicial District: Micheal Murray – Incumbent and Bill Ruth.
