practice2010The 2010 high school sports season is at hand as schools across the state, including the Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions, began practice Monday morning.  Sports including football, volleyball, and cross country all started preparing for the new seasons.

The Brownwood Lions football team is ranked number 2 in the state for District 3A according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine, and is heavily favored as a state contender in many circles.

The Lions are coming off of a 10-3 record for last season under the leadership of Coach Bob Shipley

Brownwood is also now in the newly aligned district 5-3A which will include district opponents such as Abilene Wylie, Big Spring, Snyder, and Sweetwater.  Brownwood will face Gatesville on the road in their first game of the season on August 27th.
