The Brownwood Fire Department responded to burning electric lines Wednesday night around 8pm at the corner of 10th Street and Good Shepherd located behind Brownwood High School near the school’s baseball fields.   Smoldering embers were visible dropping to the ground, but recent rains and green grass likely helped to prevent something worse.

Brownwood Police blocked traffic along Good Shepherd behind the high school while they waited for utility crews to repair the lines, and the Brownwood Fire Department made sure a fire did not ignite on the ground.

Oncor Electric arrived and repaired the lines.

In December 2010, a similar incident occurred at the same location igniting a grass fire that went near the baseball fields (click here for that original story).

Photos are from the Wednesday night incident.
