The Early Police Department is investigating the death of an 18-year-old Brownwood man who was found over the weekend.
The man is identified as Brandon Lee Abernathy of Brownwood, according to Early Police Chief David Mercer. Abernathy was staying at a friend’s house in 200 block of Hillcrest Drive in Early when he was found at 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Mercer reported that the reporting party said Abernathy was not breathing and was cold to touch when the 911 call was made. He had apparently been deceased for several hours when the call was made.Investigators are meeting with medical examiners in Austin this morning to try and determine the cause of death, Mercer said. Abernathy had no signs of a physical struggle and family has stated he had no medical condition.
An autopsy was ordered by Judge Brian Thompson.
